Mahindra has officially launched the Mahindra Thar ROXX Edition in India, adding a special off-road-focused variant to its popular lifestyle SUV lineup. Based on the LX trim, the ROXX Edition gets factory-fitted accessories and exclusive cosmetic updates, designed to enhance its already rugged persona. Available in both gasoline and diesel variants with 4×4 capabilities, the Thar ROXX stands out with its distinctive blacked-out grille, new ROXX graphics, and a matte-finished bonnet. The bold, sporty design is further accentuated by red tow hooks, special body decals, and unique badging across the exterior.
Factory-Fitted Off-Road Enhancements
The ROXX Edition is aimed squarely at off-road enthusiasts. It comes with front and rear metal bumpers, a metal skid plate, side steps, and off-road spec 16-inch wheels with chunkier all-terrain tyres. It also includes a roof-mounted LED light bar and adventure-ready grab handles inside the cabin. These factory-fitted upgrades not only give the SUV a more aggressive look but also add real functional value for trail driving and rugged terrain.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Thar ROXX continues to offer the same cabin layout as the top-end LX trim but adds red contrast stitching, ROXX-themed seat covers, and sporty inserts. It retains all the convenience features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, cruise control, steering-mounted controls, and manual air conditioning. The overall design leans toward durability and functionality, keeping with its off-road nature.
Powertrain and Drivetrain Options
The Thar ROXX Edition is available with both 2.0L mStallion petrol and 2.2L mHawk diesel engines, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Like other Thar 4×4 variants, it features a low-range transfer case, mechanical locking differential, and shift-on-fly 4WD system, ensuring the same proven off-road capabilities Mahindra Thar is known for.
Mahindra Thar ROXX Edition Price in India
The Thar ROXX Edition is priced starting at ₹15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), offering strong value for buyers seeking a more aggressive, trail-ready version of the popular Thar. It will be sold in limited numbers through Mahindra dealerships across India and is likely to appeal to off-roaders and adventurers who want a factory-customized SUV without needing aftermarket modifications.
