Hero MotoCorp is stepping up its game with the launch of the Hero Xoom 160, a bold and aggressive maxi-scooter designed to offer comfort, performance, and cutting-edge styling. It marks Hero’s serious entry into the premium scooter space, ready to compete with the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160. The Xoom 160 was first showcased at the EICMA auto show and has now officially made its way to the Indian market.
Powerful 156cc Engine Tuned for Performance
The Hero Xoom 160 comes equipped with a 156cc liquid-cooled engine, a first for the brand. This powertrain produces an estimated 14 bhp and 13.7 Nm of torque, delivering sporty performance suitable for both city rides and highway cruising. Mated with a CVT gearbox, the engine ensures linear power delivery and smooth throttle response, especially useful for riders upgrading from commuter scooters.
Maxi-Scooter Design with Muscular Appeal
The Xoom 160 gets a true maxi-scooter design with a large body, extended footboards, and a windscreen at the front. It features LED lighting all around, sharp body panels, and split grab rails. The styling cues are aggressive and urban-focused, aiming to attract younger buyers who seek both utility and street presence.
Tech-Loaded Features and Connectivity
Hero has loaded the Xoom 160 with a full digital instrument cluster that includes Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and ride statistics. There’s also keyless ignition, a USB charging port, and a multi-function switchgear, making it one of the most feature-rich scooters in its class.
Suspension and Ride Comfort
To ensure comfort and stability, the Xoom 160 gets telescopic front forks and a 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock. The scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels and uses front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS for safety. With a kerb weight of around 140 kg, it strikes a balance between agility and sturdiness.
Expected Price and Launch Date
Hero is expected to price the Xoom 160 around ₹1.45 lakh to ₹1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), making it competitive in the premium scooter market. The official launch is slated for late 2025, with bookings expected to open shortly after the announcement. It will be available in multiple sporty colors across Hero dealerships nationwide.
Xoom 160 Could Be Hero’s Game-Changer in Premium Scooter Space
With a powerful engine, modern styling, and feature-loaded technology, the Hero Xoom 160 has all the makings of a market disruptor. It caters to riders looking for more than a basic scooter — those who want performance, practicality, and premium appeal in one package. If Hero prices it right, the Xoom 160 could become one of the most popular maxi-scooters in India.
