Honda WR-V is preparing to re-launch the WR-V in an all-new avatar for 2025, targeting the highly competitive sub-4-metre SUV segment in India. After its earlier version was discontinued due to stricter safety and emission norms, the new WR-V will return with a more aggressive design, updated interiors, and better powertrain options. It aims to compete directly with popular models like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet.
Bold SUV Styling With High Ground Clearance and LED Lights
The new Honda WR-V 2025 is expected to feature a bolder, SUV-like stance with high ground clearance, muscular wheel arches, and a redesigned front fascia. A sharp chrome grille, projector LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and sporty alloy wheels will give it a premium and youthful appearance. The rear design may include wraparound tail lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and integrated reflectors, adding to its urban appeal and road presence.
Comfortable and Smart Cabin With Modern Features
Inside, the WR-V will offer a spacious and practical cabin layout with Honda’s signature interior quality. It will come equipped with a 7-inch or 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a digital instrument cluster. Honda may also offer height-adjustable driver seat, leatherette upholstery, push-button start, and smart key access in higher trims.
1.5L Petrol Engine and CVT Option Likely; Hybrid Variant Under Consideration
Under the hood, the WR-V 2025 is likely to use the same 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine that powers the Honda Elevate and City, producing around 119 bhp and 145 Nm torque, paired with a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox. While there’s no official confirmation yet, Honda may also consider introducing a mild hybrid variant later to boost fuel efficiency and meet stricter emission norms. Diesel variants are unlikely due to BS6 Phase 2 norms.
Standard Safety Features With 6 Airbags, ABS, and Strong Structure
Honda is expected to equip the new WR-V with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and reverse parking camera with sensors. Based on Honda’s Global Small Car platform or a modified Elevate chassis, the WR-V will be built to comply with India’s latest crash test standards. The top variants could offer additional features like a 360-degree camera and TPMS for added safety and convenience.
Launch Date and Expected Price in India
The Honda WR-V 2025 is expected to launch in India by late 2025, possibly during the festive season. The starting price is likely to be around ₹8.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and go up to ₹12.5 lakh for the top-spec automatic trim. Honda is aiming to attract both urban young buyers and families looking for a reliable, compact SUV with stylish looks and trusted brand value.
Honda WR-V 2025 Could Be a Game-Changer in Compact SUV Space
With its sporty SUV styling, spacious interior, refined petrol engine, and Honda’s reputation for durability, the WR-V 2025 could make a strong comeback in India’s fast-growing compact SUV segment. It offers a perfect mix of comfort, features, and urban agility for buyers who want something different from the usual crowd while still enjoying Japanese reliability and low maintenance costs.
