The Mahindra XUV400 enters 2025 with subtle updates and remains a solid choice in the electric SUV space. Based on the XUV300’s platform but stretched for added boot space and EV packaging, the XUV400 sports clean lines, satin copper accents, LED lighting elements, and a signature blanked-off grille. Its upright, SUV-like stance gives it more road presence than some rounded EV rivals, while maintaining compact dimensions suitable for city use. The latest Pro variants also get a redesigned front fascia, new dual-tone colors, and sharper detailing for a more premium feel.
Strong Electric Powertrain with Two Battery Options
Under the hood — or rather, under the floor — the XUV400 comes with two battery pack choices: 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh, delivering MIDC-certified ranges of 375 km and 456 km respectively. Both variants are powered by a 150 PS (310 Nm) electric motor, which provides brisk acceleration and a 0–100 km/h time of around 8.3 seconds, making it the quickest EV in its price bracket. It supports both AC home charging and 50 kW DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in under 50 minutes.
Updated Interior with New Tech in 2025
The 2025 XUV400 gets a major cabin refresh with the XUV400 Pro and EL Pro variants, introducing a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car features, and a much-needed revised center console layout with improved fit and finish. The cabin now feels more upmarket with dual-tone themes, piano black inserts, and leatherette upholstery. There’s also a single-pane sunroof, auto climate control, and rear USB charging — making it much more competitive in its segment.
Safety and Driving Experience
The XUV400 is based on a 5-star GNCAP-rated XUV300 platform, and carries forward that solid safety DNA. It comes equipped with 6 airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, disc brakes on all wheels, TPMS, and ISOFIX. The suspension is tuned for Indian roads, offering a planted ride with good bump absorption. Regenerative braking modes add to range efficiency, and the car handles confidently at high speeds without feeling floaty.
Mahindra XUV400 2025 Price in India
The Mahindra XUV400 is priced between ₹15.49 lakh and ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and battery pack. It stands out with its fast performance, long range, real SUV design, and enhanced tech in 2025, making it a very practical electric SUV for those who want zero emissions without compromising on everyday usability or safety.
