After making waves in the two-wheeler EV market, OLA Electric is now entering the four-wheeler space with its upcoming electric sedan, set to launch in 2025. First teased during the company’s Independence Day event, the OLA Electric Sedan promises a futuristic design, smart tech, and long-range performance — all designed and built in India at OLA’s Future Factory.
Futuristic Design Inspired by Global EV Trends
The teaser images reveal a sleek coupe-like silhouette with a low-slung bonnet, full-width LED DRLs, and aerodynamic proportions. With smooth body lines, retractable door handles, and glass roof options expected, the OLA sedan aims to challenge even global EV design benchmarks. Its bold front and clean rear give it a Tesla Model 3–like presence, tailored for Indian roads.
Over 500 Km Range on a Single Charge
OLA Electric has confirmed that its sedan will offer a minimum range of 500 km, likely powered by a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack developed in-house. The vehicle will support fast charging with DC charging speeds of up to 180 kW, enabling 0–80% charge in under 30 minutes. OLA’s own Hypercharger network is expected to support seamless long-distance travel.
Built on OLA’s Native EV Platform
This new electric car will ride on a born-EV skateboard platform, optimized for space, battery placement, and modular scalability. This architecture allows for a spacious interior, flat floor, and optimized weight distribution, promising excellent ride quality and handling. The platform will also serve as a base for future hatchbacks and SUVs from OLA.
Smart Cabin with AI-Powered Features
The OLA Electric Sedan will feature a next-gen connected cabin with a large horizontal touchscreen, AI-based voice assistant, OTA software updates, and integrated vehicle controls via the OLA app. Expect driver profiles, connected maps, remote diagnostics, and possibly Level 2 ADAS features like lane assist and adaptive cruise control.
Performance & Acceleration to Rival Global Players
Although performance specs are not fully revealed, OLA has hinted at sub-6 second 0–100 km/h acceleration, thanks to a high-efficiency electric motor and instant torque delivery. Dual-motor AWD variants may be offered, along with regenerative braking and multiple drive modes for efficiency and sportiness.
Launch Timeline and Expected Price in India
The OLA Electric Sedan is slated to launch by end of 2025, with final unveil expected around August 15, 2025. The expected pricing could range between ₹20–₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a direct competitor to the BYD Seal, Tata Avinya (upcoming), and MG’s next-gen electric sedans.
Final Verdict
The OLA Electric Sedan could become a game-changer for India’s EV landscape. With futuristic styling, long range, and connected features made for the new-age consumer, it’s more than just a car it’s a signal of India’s electric future. If OLA delivers on its promises, this sedan might just put India on the global EV map in style.
